BIMSTEC Energy Centre (BEC) is an institution created to share experience in reforms, restructuring, regulation, and best practice in the energy sector of BIMSTEC Member States.
The Centre was formed pursuant to a Memorandum of Association (MoA) signed among BIMSTEC Member States on 22nd January 2011.
The Centre is located in Bengaluru, India, wherein it also functions as the Secretariat of the BIMSTEC Grid Interconnection Coordination Committee. The BEC would coordinate, facilitate, and strengthen cooperation in energy sector in BIMSTEC region by promoting experience sharing and capacity building.
